Exceptional cabinetmaking transforms solid wood into an iconic and sculptural chest of drawers. Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s spectacular wrappings of buildings during the 1990s have been transformed into this inflated chest of drawers, digitally transformed by master cabinetmaker Jørgen Kjersgaard’s CNC machines, which milled the spectacular structure of the wood into undulating surfaces covering the body of this piece. The natural, spectacular woodgrain takes on a new dimension, and the spectacular, undulating wooden body lends its own unique DNA to the chest. Now in production and the first 25 Inflated chest of drawers will be numbered.
