The chair is designed for a classic Kaiseki restaurant/bar. The establishment, which serves traditional food, was opened in central Kyoto in August 1997.
The chair has been made of elm. The curved rear leg and back have been made of a piece of precompressed elm. The narrow rear leg and back give easy access to the table.
