The inspiration is taken from Tivoli’s mirror cabinet, where curved mirrors distort the picture of reality.
The simple shape simulates an antique pillar with its seven concave mirrors in polished stainless steel plate.
From a distance, the pillar is almost invisible and we only notice it when we get close. The column mirrors and gathers colors and shapes from the garden and the sky in vertical images. The world moves kaleidoscopically in the object as we move around the column.
The material and the reflection create the illusion with a single grip.
